Rise Up Racket Sports Newsletter – Important Update
A new way of paying, exciting changes, and a big year ahead 🎾
We have a few important updates to share with you as we head into a very exciting next chapter for Rise Up Racket Sports and Syston Northfields Tennis Club.
🔄 Change to Coaching Payments – Moving to “Pay by Half Term”
We’re rolling back the years and moving away from monthly subscriptions to a pay-by-half-term system.
This change gives parents and coaches more control, and crucially allows us to be fairer when sessions are cancelled due to bad weather.
Why we’re making this change:
We will now be able to credit accounts when sessions are cancelled due to bad weather
Previously, many of those sessions were unfortunately lost
Parents will clearly see what they are paying for each half term
Coaches can manage groups more effectively across terms
❗ What You Need to Do
1️⃣ Cancel your current group coaching subscription
Please do this after January’s payment has come out of your account (for many of you, this has already happened).
2️⃣ Once cancelled, you will need to sign up for the half-term block
Your start date should be one month on from your last payment
You will only pay for the lessons remaining in that half term
⏳ For those who normally pay at the beginning of the month, the turnaround will be very quick.
👉 Book your half-term lessons here:

⚠️ Important:
If you have any difficulty cancelling your subscription, please let me know as soon as possible.
I will be cancelling all remaining subscriptions on 31st January, but please check this immediately in case there is a delay.
🏟️ The Rally Hub – Indoor Racket Sports Centre
As many of you will have seen or heard, I have now set up The Rally Hub, an indoor racket sports centre where the public can hire courts and attend coaching and events.
Rise Up Racket Sports / Syston Northfields Tennis Club remain the coaching providers
I will be taking the majority of my lessons indoors at The Rally Hub
This gives us far greater flexibility, especially during winter months
It’s a really positive step that allows me to stay within the sport I love, while adapting to ongoing health challenges in a sustainable way.
🎉 Coaching Team Update – Great News!
I’m delighted to say that we’ve managed to persuade Betsy to return full-time, which is a huge boost for Syston Northfields Tennis Club.
With Mytch, Betsy, Cerys and myself working together, this year promises to be more action-packed and dynamic than ever, with the added bonus of indoor facilities.
🏆 Club Membership Update
There is now a new rule at Syston Northfields Tennis Club:
➡️ Once your child has completed one full term of coaching, they will need to become a member of the club.
Junior membership prices are very minimal
Full details will be shared in March, in time for the new membership year
🚀 Looking Ahead
This year is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting one for the club and for Rise Up Racket Sports. With a strong coaching team, improved flexibility, and new indoor opportunities, we’re looking forward to seeing players enjoy their tennis more than ever.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Edd and the Rise Up Racket Sports Team
